Making Music at Make Music Pasadena

Written by

Make Music Pasadena is tomorrow.  It’s going to be a fun filled day for KCRW music fans, as some of our favorite bands will be there!

Make Music Pasadena is one of the most fun summer events in Los Angeles.  The picturesque streets of Pasadena fill with music and art lovers, while internationally known bands perform an several stages scattered across the neighborhood.  All of it walking distance, there is nothing quite like dancing in the street to great live music in the beginning of the summer.

A quick preview of the bands we love that will be performing at Make Music Pasadena, for your viewing pleasure…

Grouplove

A quirky group of world travelers that met on the island of Crete and had so much fun making music together that they pooled their funds to come to Los Angeles and make an album together.  Hear their live performance on Morning Becomes Eclectic here.  They’ll be going up at 6pm on the Indie Rock Stage.

Electric Guest

An LA-based duo that is inspired by classic 70’s songwriting with a nod to nostalgic soul. Their sound is Dangermouse laced, and super fun.  They were on Morning Becomes Eclectic this week, and it was a very good time.  An even better time will be had when they hit the Indie Rock Stage at 3pm.

HoneyHoney

Another fun LA band, singing sweet melodic tunes that pay homage to their love of all things cowboy and Americana.  They visited Morning Becomes Eclectic last year, and they’ll be hitting the stage in Levitt Pavillion Pasadena at 6pm.

Grimes

A Canadian artist and musician that performs melodic and cutting edge pop music and has DIY culture running through her veins.  Read more on this captivating force of nature here.  She’ll be hitting the Playhouse District Eclectic Stage at 5pm.

KCRW’s own Jason Bentley

That’s right.  Our very own Jason Bentley will be hitting the stage after Grimes at the Playhouse District Stage at 6pm to bring the whole thing into a full on dance party in the streets of Old Town Pasadena.

I’ll see you on the streets of Pasadena!
