Music For Your Holiday Weekend

You’re hearing plenty of Christmas songs on the radio, out and about shopping, at the doctor’s office…with the big day just around the corner, it’s basically everywhere. Well, here’s some more! 🙂

These are a few songs that I heard growing up every year and remind me the most of Christmas. Enjoy and happy holidays!

Donny Hathaway – “This Christmas”

This is THE Christmas song. Period.

The Temptations – “Silent Night”

After the Donny Hathaway song, I have the fondest memories of hearing this song while trimming the tree. It’s so soulful, you just can’t help but feel it.

Ray Charles – “Merry Christmas Baby”

The godfather of rhythm & blues as we know it, doing the Beach Boys. This is truly a gift.

Eartha Kitt – “Santa Baby”

I’m not sure what’s more impressive: the fact that she made a Christmas song sexy or that no one cares she did. There was no one quite like Eartha Kitt.

Jackson 5 – “I Saw Mommy Kissing Santa Claus”

Another one of those covers that is so classic, people forget this isn’t the original.

A Charlie Brown Christmas – “Christmas Time Is Here”

I mean, this has to be on the list, right?
