I walked onto the SMC Campus on Thursday morning only to stumble upon a slightly confused Gruff Rhys looking for our basement studios.

It’s not easy for most musicians to function in the morning, let alone find a studio in the middle of a college essay campus maze.

I walked him down and we talked about the weather because what ELSE could I talk to the singer of Super Furry Animals about? He was here for the U.S. radio debut of his band Neon Neon, formed with producer Boom Bip.

Their debut garnered them a Mercury Prize nomination and their sophomore album “Praxis Makes Perfect” came out this Spring. Check out tracks from the new album performed live right here.
