Pan Caliente: East LA band Twin Seas bring chill, new wave sound

East LA band Twin Seas have a new wave sound and their latest track "SLICE" brings some much needed chill.

Today’s Pan Caliente feature is a surefire, chill-out jam courtesy of East LA’s own Twin Seas. And oh boy, could we use one.

The new wave inspired four-piece band, released a self-titled debut in 2017 that —seemingly — has continuously climbed back into the top of my listening rotation. Their dreamy and catchy melodies, coupled with analog synths, strike a deep Californian chord that is quite palatable for the masses.

“SLICE,” their newest single, taps into the funkier and soulful side of the project, while still providing solid synth melodies, but overall is a little less dreamy, surf-tinged. Check out the video for “SLICE” below, it’s sure to mellow you out. The single is available on all platforms this Friday.
