PHOTOS: The Soft Pack and Avi Buffalo in Venice

Written by

When I heard San Diego’s The Soft Pack were doing a 10-show marathon in LA on Saturday, I knew I had to catch them somewhere along the way.  Luckily, they chose the backyard of a Venice household – the FMLY mansion – as their 3rd location and had openers Avi Buffalo kick off the proceedings.  I like both bands and were impressed that they played their hearts out in short sets from a garage!  I first checked out The Soft Pack at CMJ 2008 when they were called The Muslims. Their new material is much punchier – they seem to have mastered punky songcraft with a heavy dose of pop – and  I’m happy to see them on the bill for Coachella. Here are some pics courtesy of Jeremiah Garcia.
