I arrived in San Diego for Comic-com late enough in the day to only have time to make a recon circuit of the convention hall, which is enormous! In addition to people hawking wares such as comic books, autographs, original artwork, t-shirt, posters, figurines and such, there actually is some musical content as well, as there are numerous vendors who are selling soundtracks to your favorite sci-fi, fantasy or comic book-related films & tv-shows. Having scoped out the scene, I’ve got a handle on how to tackle the beast that is Comic-Con with full force on Friday, so I scarf a couple of corn dogs, then head to an evening party celebrating the impending release of a new film called “Centurion.”
You can’t escape the Hollywood connection here. Celebrity sightings: Thelma from “Good Times,” Roj from “What’s Happening” and a KCRW volunteer dressed up as Doctor Who.
