Reggae Pops was a fixture on the music scene here in LA and, with the news of his passing, a flurry of tributes went up on Facebook.

He visited KCRW’s studios when Lianne La Havas performed, and it was a pleasure to have his incredible spirit here.

Watch Lianne’s video featuring Reggae Pops and read a tribute from KCRW DJ Anthony Valadez below.

From Anthony:

Reggae Pops will be missed. I’ll miss his spirt, energy and ability to pop up out of nowhere with a huge smile on his face. He taught me to dance with bended knees and keep the back straight when grooving.

It was a pleasure to have met his family and for them to see how much LA appreciates him at his 68th B Day party at the Exchange LA a few years back.

Words can not describe his beautiful human spirit. You just had to have known him or seen him to feel it.

Here is a photo of Pops with KCRW staffer Shawniece Swain.
