From KCRW DJ Jeremy Sole:

The days are longer and the weather is hotter, people it’s Reggae time once again in Los Angeles!

It’s an honor being the annual host of Reggae Night at the Hollywood Bowl as part of KCRW’s World Festival, and this Sunday I’m co-hosting with the one and only Ziggy Marley, who always shares stories of how these legendary artists inspired his youth.

I’m excited about everyone on the bill, but let’s start with Mr. Bob Andy, one of the original members of The Paragons whose sweet vocal harmonies brought us some of the best Rocksteady to date. I always play their tasty cover version of The Beatles’ “Blackbird”, but I urge you to dig deeper!

Next up is Freddie McGregor, with his Lover’s Rock style and smooth approach. Pure love. The fact that we’re going to be treated to the wildfire of Toots & The Maytals is a sureshot soul session! Toots has more energy than most performers half his age, owning the stage and captivating the spirit of everyone in attendance.

I can’t wait for Sunday!
