I’ve been following local band Saint Motel for years and I can tell you one thing for sure – they ALWAYS put on a great live show.

This group of guys met in film school and all of that creativity comes out in their musical performances – whether it’s holding a “zombie prom” on Valentine’s Day or putting together some of the funniest and most interesting music videos I’ve seen in a long time. But don’t let all that praise downplay the quality of their music – energetic power pop that caught Jason Bentley’s ear the minute he heard it. You can download their excellent track “Butch” for free right now as part Today’s Top Tune.

We expect big things from this promising local band and you can catch them for FREE as part of the Hammer Museum’s “Also I Like to Rock” concert series, which is sponsored by KCRW. It kicks off tonight at 7pm with a set from KCRW DJ Dan Wilcox and a performance from Kitten.

These free, all ages shows almost always reach capacity so early arrival is highly recommend. And, even better, card-carrying KCRW members get priority access! That’s right, your membership to KCRW lets you jump into a first-access line, so don’t forget your card.

If you are not yet a member, you can buy a Rock The Summer Pass for just $25 and get a short-term membership to both KCRW and the Hammer, priority access, and you can hang in the VIP Lounge for all four shows. Definitely worth it if you plan on being a regular.

If the video below doesn’t encourage you, I don’t know what will.
