In the build up to the SXSW music conference earlier this year, there was one band I was dead set on seeing – Surfer Blood. The fuzzy riffs and sunny harmonies on their debut “Astro Coast” dominated my stereo in the early part of this year and when I finally got to catch them, they were about my 10th show of the day and my ears were already ringing. It was still great to hear the songs I loved so much live, but I knew I needed a second chance to get the full live experience and my opportunity is approaching at the end of this month.

Surfer Blood, who happen to be from my home state of Florida, are touring the U.S. with The Drums and will stop by the Music Box on September 29 before heading off to tour Europe with Interpol in November.

The recently released video for their track “Floating Vibes” just reignited my excitement about the band. And I hear they just signed to Warner Bros Records, so expect to here more from them soon!
