From KCRW Music Director Jason Bentley:
While visiting Ibiza, Spain in the Spring of this year a friend played Tame Impala for me and I was instantly hooked.
Drawn in by their guitar driven bong-rock stylings, and psychedelic-era Beatles vocals, Tame Impala struck me as the right band with the right sound at the right time. As Spring turned to Summer the album stayed in heavy rotation. It was the balance of familiar elements against a relaxed and confident rhythm that really made the record compelling to me.
Favorite songs include “Desire Be, Desire Go,” “Lucidity,” “Expectation,” and “I Really Don’t Mind” but the whole album really holds up as an enjoyable listen and we are pleased to present a special stream — both the album version and Pilooski remix of “Lucidity” for your personal edification. Rock on!

Lucidity — Album Version
Translating newness from the subtleties of arrangement and production, Innerspeaker takes the listener on a exhilarating spin down the highways of the mind. Hailing from the far reaches of Australia’s West country, I imagine Tame Impala may have drawn some inspiration from the back country roads of Perth, their hometown. Track it down if you haven’t already!
Editor’s Note: The single package for ‘Lucidity’, which includes both above tracks, plus two more remixes, is out today.
Also, Tame Impala will be visiting our studios for a live Morning Becomes Eclectic session on December 15!
