The Bamboos are a funk-soul outlet from Australia and, with the gorgeous vocals of Megan Washington, transform this intense, spacious track into a totally different song.

Here is the original version of “Wilhelm Scream” by James Blake so you can compare:

Wow, right? I love when a cover totally turns a song upside down. (don’t tell James, but this one is much more MY style!)

Megan’s appearances on Lanu’sHer 12 Faces “” made that album one of my most-listened to last year and The Bamboos are one of the most dependably groovy bands around. They recently celebrated their 10 year anniversary as a band and will release their 5th album on Tru Thoughts this year!
