Monday, Nov. 19 Toro Y Moi “Freelance”
Toro Y Moi, aka Chaz Bear, premiered tracks from his highly anticipated forthcoming LP Outer Peace on Morning Becomes Eclectic recently. Said to be his most pop-influenced album to date, “Freelance” is infectious.
Tuesday, Nov. 20 Bedouine “One of These Days“
Bedouine sounds like she’s stepped out of the 60’s/70’s folk movement. Syrian born, Bedouine came to the US after her parents won a green card lottery and made Los Angeles her new home. A talented songwriter with a beautiful vibrato, we share the timeless sound of “One of These Days.”
Wednesday, Nov. 21 Diego Garcia “She’s Amazing”
Most of Diego Garcia’s songs have been inspired by his wife and muse, Laura. While recording “She’s Amazing” (a song originally intended for his beloved), Garcia began to work with Conservation International, a non-profit dedicated to protecting our planet. Garcia tweaked the song to reflect a larger narrative between woman/lover and mother earth.
Thursday, Nov. 22 Julia Jacklin “Head Alone”
Aussie artist Julia Jacklin’s new album Crushing explores all facets of the word. “Head Alone” is a pointed song; with the gripping socio-political lyric “I don’t want to be touched all the time/I raised my body up to be mine.”
Friday, Nov. 23 Typhoon “Rorschach” Live On MBE
Portland, Oregon collective Typhoon crafts ornate, big-hearted indie-rock anthems, and returned with their highly anticipated album Offerings after a four-year hiatus. We loved their Morning Becomes Eclectic session and share a special version of “Rorschach” recorded in our basement studios.
