The xx won the Mercury Prize tonight, which is essentially an album of the year award for best British or Irish album. Other nominees included everyone from Paul Weller and Wild Beasts to Laura Marling and Foals. We hosted the band for a live performance during SXSW that did not disappoint. They can create sexy, captivating music even in the early afternoon before the sun goes down, which is pretty impressive. Check out a highlight here.
