Nashville charmer Tristen brought along her Buddy (yes, a guitarist named Buddy) to play a delightful set of tunes which included our favorites – “Matchstick Murder”, “Baby Drugs”, and “Eager for Your Love” – as well as a cover of Dolly Parton’s “Wildflowers”. Hearing Tristen sing it, I really got to focus on the lyrics…
I uprooted myself from home ground and left
Took my dreams and I took to the road
When a flower grows wild, it can always survive
Wildflowers don’t care where they grow
I have a feeling Tristen really connects to that track, given her conversation with Jason about growing up in Chicago and her move to Nashville to pursue music.
