Grace Mitchell has been a big KCRW favorite since the release of her Raceday EP in 2015. Her track “Nolo,” from that EP is an anthem to myself (and several friends), and she wrote it before she was legally an adult!
Her latest single “Now” is equally anthemic. Mitchell is clearly a singer/songwriter who sprang into life fully formed. I’m tempted to say that her powerful voice, astounding wisdom, and wickedly sharp perspective completely belie her 19 years. Honestly though, she would (and will) be a powerhouse at any age.
