All of our DJs receive hundreds of CDs a month to consider for airplay. In this regular feature, KCRW DJ Chuck Pcatalogues his musical bounty from the Post Office each week.

The mid-holiday stretch always brings seasonal cheer, but the post office box sure gets lonely. Only three packages in the box, but luckily all three look really good.

1) Western States Motel “Country & Western Song” .. a new single from one of my favorite LA bands. A treat to hear new stuff from them.

2) Philippe Petit “Henry: The Iron Man” .. vinyl reissue of this atmospheric classic from last year. Reminds me to listen to A Sent Of Garmambrosia again, which came out earlier this year.

3) Games “That We Play” .. EP finally shows up in my box. Made their last single 7 Inch of the Week a couple of months ago. More is always good!

Ultimately, a nice haul. Now that the new stuff is drying up, I’m putting together some concept shows for the end of the year. Tonight @ 12a is theRest of The Best of 2010. I had nearly 90 songs set aside for my faves of 2010… I’ll be playing about half of them tonight. Songs that would have made the Top 10 if it was the Top 54.

Also, I’ll be filling in for Gary Calamar on December 12th. Love filling in…

Cheers,

Chuck P.

Best,

Chuck P.
