What I Got at the Post Office Today by Chuck P

Written by

All of our DJs receive hundreds of CDs a month to consider for airplay. In this regular feature, KCRW DJ Chuck P catalogues his musical bounty from the Post Office each week.

Big day today.  Hope all of you get the chance to get out and make your voice heard.  Little else of importance today, but here’s a wee sumptin’ sumptin’ from Ye Olde Post. philwilson

1) Phil Wilson “God Bless Jim Kennedy” – more precious pop from the Slumberland label.  We know the drill here…

kraus
2) Sharron Kraus “The Woody Nightshade” – love her previous dark folk mood.  May be appropriate for some today.  I expect great things from this one.

penelope

3) Sarah Kirkland Snider/Shara Worden/Signal “Penelope” – described as a song cycle written by Snider and performed by My Brightest Diamonds’ Shara Worden with Signal.  I wonder what King Song Cycle himself, Van Dyke Parks would think about this one?

Again, most important today: VOTING.  I know you’re getting hit from all sides; pundits, politicians, robo-calls on your cell phones, and it’s for a reason.  It means a lot to ALL of us.  Less important to me is who you vote for… just do it.

Tonight while I’m on the air (from 12-3a), KCRW will be providing hourly reports on the returns, so it’s going to be an exciting night.

Tune in for everything you expect from us.

Cheers,

Chuck P.
