The French festival Les Inrocks is named after the French music magazine Les Inrockuptibles – a serious magazine for the serious music lover. Les Inrocks takes place each November traveling to Paris, Lille, Nantes and Toulouse. From the US there’s MGMT, Black Kids and Fleet Foxes , the UK contingent includes The Kooks , The Foals, Hot Chip and the la pop sexy of the Ting Tings, from Brazil the ever lively CSS and Australia’s groove guru Cut Copy – flying the flag for France is actress turned singer songwriter Soko..

Heineken’s Green Synergy Event which takes place in Dublin’s Village quarter from November 12 – 16th . The music selection is eclectic ranging from jazz to electronica – there’s Herbie Hancock Sextet , Clinic , TV on The Radio, Fat Freddy’s Drop, and DJ Justin Robertson. There’s also free film screenings featuring ‘Wilco; I am Trying to Break Your Heart’ a new doc on the inventor of the modern synthesizer ‘Moog’ and ‘Studio One Story’ about the legendgary Jamaican record label.

If the idea of going to a festival conjures up smelly tents, traffic jams and watered down beer, well first of all where have you been? The Global Gig guide has been chock full of festivals with plush accommodation, gourmet organic food, gorgeous locations and top notch music – but if you prefer to listen to me whittering on about festivals while you remain at home in your jammies, then I have the perfect festival for you – its called NOISEFestival and has no physical home whatsoever as its all online.

Badly Drawn Boy. You can check out the NoiseFestival website to hear some of Damon’s pics from artists including Rubakon, Jessie Ginsberg and The RossmanFristerproject – have a listen and see if you agree with the woolly hatted one.
