Everything But The Girl fans have two reasons to rejoice today.

The first is the release of Fuse, their first new album in 24 years, whose third single premiered on MBE this past Tuesday.

The second reason is KCRW’s unearthing of a long-unheard live session recorded in-studio for MBE in 1994. Recorded on the US tour for Amplified Heart, the set features typically lovely renderings of three songs from that album: “Troubled Mind,” “25 December,” and (of course) “Missing.” It also includes a harmonious cover of Sonic Youth’s “Kotton Krown,” as only Ben and Tracey could do it.

This session has languished in the archives since its original broadcast on December 5, 1994. You can listen to it via the player button on your left (above if on mobile).

EBTG sat down with KCRW’s Deirdre O’Donoghue at Warner Bros. Records while touring behind their 1985 album, "Love Not Money." Listen to Deirdre’s original interview tape in full.

MBE: EBTG’s Ben Watt and Tracey Thorn Guest DJ Set (1996)

EBTG takes a turn as guest DJ with Chris Douridas. They talk about the continuing success of their album 'Walking Wounded' and the ensuing hypnotic remixes of tracks from the album.
