A full week past its release date, SoCal rockers Chicano Batman claim victory for their new LP, Notebook Fantasy. But wait, there’s another LA crew nipping at their heels, vibey electropop duo Brijean whose new single “Workin’ On It” immediately enters the running to be our fair city’s official anthem. “I’m just trying to get some better sleep,” declares frontwoman Brijean Murphy, “… I guess I’m working on it.” Girl, same.

New and notable: Everytime Beyoncé appears on the KCRW Top 30, an angel gets its wings.
