Welcome to the final chart report of 2023. In perhaps the least surprising news imaginable, our most played record of the past two weeks is André 3000’s improvisatory, flute-centric ambient soundscape album New Blue Sun. Made in collaboration with KCRW superfriends including Carlos Niño and Nate Mercereau, this is just the thing we’ve been waiting for to wind down the year on the sweetest note.

Fun fact! Our official year end lists are just around the corner and they’ll include our most played albums of 2023 so watch this space. And keep an eye (and ear) tuned to our Top 30 Spotify playlist as we’ll still be collecting weekly data and updating the tunes. Regular recaps will resume in mid-January, 2024. Until we meet again, be well and happy holidays!
