KCRW’s Top 30: Adrian Quesada, Lee Fields, De Lux

Welcome to the penultimate Top 30 Chart of 2022. We’ll save the sentimentalities for next week, but looking over this list, one can’t help but reflect on just how much excellent music made its way into the world this year. This week’s number one guy, Adrian Quesada, paid loving homage to the cinematic and psychedelic sounds of his youth for his first album of the year, “Boleros Psicodélicos,” and gets real vibe-y on his second — the instrumental hip-hop offering “Jaguar Sound,” currently the most played album across all of KCRW. 

You’ll also find many special edition and remix albums from some of our all-time faves — i.e. Hot Chip, De Lux, and Metronomy — and to that we say, the more the merrier. And our very first guest to have a live performance beamed out from HQ in real time since early 2020, Mr. Lee Fields, finds himself in the anchor spot of the top ten.
