Landing at no. 1 this week is "Safeandsound." This latest single from Australian electro-pop five piece Parcels is laidback, loopy, and cozy — the sonic equivalent of a Sunday drive to nowhere with a small group of your favorite people in the whole wide world. Plus, French producer Myd once again finds himself within grasping reach of the top spot as the frenetic delights of his double single "Song For You" / "The Wizard" sits at no. 2 for the second week in a row. Might there be a breakthrough in his future? You'll have to open this newsletter next week to find out. Rounding out the top five are new singles from Durand Jones & The Indications and WITCH, and the impressive staying power of TOKiMONSTA whose Eternal Reverie is still sitting pretty several weeks after its release.
Trending Upwards: "Lakeside" — a new single from the Norwegian instrumental rock trio Orions Belte that would be right at home on a driving playlist after that Parcels track at no. 1 — has landed just outside of the top ten.
New and Notable: Hannah Cohen hits no. 15 with "Draggin'," freshly signed Innovative Leisure artist Gelli Haha debuts at no. 19, and (last but not least) Houston-based indie act Love Spells take spot no. 30. Fun fact about Love Spells, they'll be hitting the road with Sharon Van Etten & The Attachment Theory for a hearty Spring tour.
