What’s that sound? It’s a groove, it’s a bop, and it’s easily a contender for song of the summer! NxWorries, the house-hop duo composed of Anderson .Paak and Knxwledge, just dropped their first single of 2025 “Everybody Gets Down.” The song title tells you everything you need to know, so of course it hit no. 1 on KCRW’s Top 30 Chart right out of the gate. Hot on their heels is Men I Trust’s Equus Caballus (last week’s no 1). Rounding out this week’s top five are: Nation of Language’s debut single for Sub Pop “Inept Apollo” (no. 3), the enduring pull of BADBADNOTGOOD & V.C.R.’s “Found a Light (Beale Street),” and the always welcome return of Little Simz' cheeky, off-kilter flow via her new track “Young.” 

New and Notable: 

Lola Young arrives at last. “One Thing” is her latest attention-grabbing single with longtime collaborator Solomonophonic (SZA, Doja Cat, Remi Wolf). Plus, Ghanaian guitarist, composer, and bandleader Ebo Taylor is by no means unfamiliar to KCRW listeners. Even so, his presence in our Top 30 is always notable, especially as it follows the 89 year-old’s official farewell tour to the Americas (including two LA dates over the weekend).
