Supernatural Thing is a curious title for M.Ward’s latest studio album, so we’ll let him explain: “The title comes from an early thought as a kid that radio traveled the same airwaves as messages from supernatural things — and music, especially remembered music, is somehow tied up in this exchange,” says Ward.
The new LP feels kind of like an extension — albeit almost 20 years later — of Ward’s early album Transistor Radio. Supernatural Thing is a bit more moody and filled with guest appearances from friends like Neko Case, Jim James, and a couple of songs with First Aid Kit, including “too young to die.” Join us in wishing M. Ward a happy birthday today!
