Kenya Barris: Black-ish

Hosted by

After writing for the viewer record breaking comedy-drama The Game, Kenya Barris wanted to create a project that reflected his earnest and honest representation of a modern, middle class African American family. With roots in his own autobiography, he explores various ideas of the historical translation that get lost when kids are raised in better environments than their parents were. Barris joins Elvis in a discussion on representing the adaptability of black culture and constructing black-ish as a conversation starter through the lens of comedy.
