Activists call for defunding LAUSD police, removing officers from campus

The Los Angeles Unified School District is the nation’s second largest school district. It’s also home to the largest school police force, the LA School Police Department. Alongside Black Lives Matter LA and grassroots group Students Deserve, United Teachers Los Angeles is calling on the district to defund school police and remove them from campuses entirely.
