Air Force medics come to LA County’s biggest public hospitals to help with COVID-19

Coronavirus cases and hospitalizations in LA have been increasing since the economy reopened in May. According to the county’s public health department, LA County hospitals are treating more than 2,000 COVID-19 patients.

Coronavirus cases and hospitalizations in LA have been increasing since the economy reopened in May. According to the county’s public health department, LA County hospitals are treating more than 2,000 COVID-19 patients. Between a quarter and a third of those people are in the Intensive Care Unit.

Now the U.S. military is deploying dozens of Air Force medics to both LAC+USC Medical Center and Harbor-UCLA Medical Center. About 40 people are working between the two hospitals.
