The CIA Torture Report, the Congressional Spending Bill

The CIA Torture Report -- a national shame or partisan revisionism? Also, revolt against the big spending bill.

By Matt Miller • Dec 12, 2014 • 29m Listen

The Senate Select Committee on Intelligence’s report on torture has Washington pointing fingers. Bob Scheer said the report calls into question if there are "inalienable rights that human beings have by virtue of being human." Rich Lowry blames the process by which the report was created , "Is it that hard to get Mike Hayden's phone number and talk to him?" Farai Chideya regrets that "We're in the holiday season, and the idea of embracing humanity is being crushed by this report." Congress struggles with the year-end omnibus spending bill.

Matt Miller moderates from the Center. On the Left, Robert Scheer (TruthDig.com). Rich Lowry (National Review) is on the Right. Farai Chideya (Distinguished Writer in Residence at New York University's Arthur L. Carter Journalism Institute) is our special guest.
