KCRW will presents live coverage of President Obama's address urging Congress to authorize military action in retaliation for the use of chemical weapons in Syria. There are a lot of moving parts, with Russia this morning offering a diplomatic solution (give the weapons over to the international community) and the UN saying Syria needs to be punished if in fact chemical weapons were used.

The US Senate debated a resolution authorizing Obama to act last week. It now goes to the full Senate for a vote. The House of Representatives returns today and will debate a resolution in the coming days.
