The Healthcare Debate, an NPR Special Report

NPR News offers an hour-long special program on the debate over healthcare in America. This news special will recap recent political developments and explore the roles various parties -- patients, physicians, hospitals, insurance companies, the government, business -- play in the current healthcare system, and in the debate over the future of healthcare in America. Robert Siegel, host of All Things Considered, hosts. Airs 1-2pm.

NPR News offers an hour-long special program on the debate over healthcare in America. This news special will recap recent political developments and explore the roles various parties -- patients, physicians, hospitals, insurance companies, the government, business -- play in the current healthcare system, and in the debate over the future of healthcare in America. Hosted by Robert Siegel, host of NPR's All Things Considered, the program features excerpts from his Howard County Health series (originally broadcast on All Things Considered) as well as analysis from NPR health policy correspondent Julie Rovner, Editor Joe Neel, the leader of NPR's coverage of the healthcare debate; David Kestenbaum of NPR's Planet Money; and National Political Correspondent Mara Liasson. Airs 1-2pm.
