California Governor Gavin Newsom says he will support a bill that tightens vaccine requirements for school children. The bill’s author made a few changes that would give doctors more discretion to grant medical exemptions.

The number of known measles cases this year is the highest in decades, with 52 in California. But the anti-vaccine movement remains vocal and well funded.
