A groundbreaking antitrust lawsuit filed last month in federal court could revive the battle between old and new media. A West Virginia newspaper company is suing Google and Facebook.

HD Media, which owns several local papers in the state, is charging the tech giants with monopolizing digital advertising. The suit says Facebook and Google have made it impossible for the paper to monetize its content. It also claims their practices threaten the extinction of local newspapers across the country.
