The U.S. has lost about five million manufacturing jobs since 2000, according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics. Donald Trump promises to bring them back, partly by renegotiating or pulling out of trade deals like NAFTA and the Trans-Pacific Partnership. But some say that’s unlikely.
