Attorney General Eric Holder has called gay rights one of “the defining civil rights challenges of our time.” This week, Holder said that state Attorneys General are not obligated to defend state laws that discriminate against gays and lesbians. And in Arizona, Governor Jan Brewer has until Friday to decide whether to sign a bill that allows business owners to deny serving gays and lesbians.
