The slate of shows in this fall’s TV season looks a bit more diverse than the usual fare: There’s the family sitcom Black-ish, the comedy Cristela featuring Cristela Alonzo, and How to Get Away with Murder starring Viola Davis. But other corners of the TV world feel a bit throwback-ish, and not in a good way.
