On the Ground in Porter Ranch

Hosted by  •

Nearly four months after it was discovered, the Porter Ranch gas leak has been capped. Southern California Gas Co. executives say they’ve temporarily plugged the leak with a sludge-like material. If all goes according to plan, the crews will pour concrete into the well in the coming days. That concrete would permanently plug the leak. Once regulators determine that the leak has indeed been stopped, residents have about a week to return home. But some residents of Porter Ranch are wary of anything the SoCal Gas Co. says, and don’t trust the regulators. Reporter George Lavender has the story from Porter Ranch.
