The History of Sunnylands

Hosted by  •

President Obama is scheduled to host a summit with Southeast Asian leaders on Mondayand Tuesday at the Sunnylands estate. That’s a 200-acre, 50-year-old retreat near Palm Springs that’s been a frequent stop for presidents – mostly Republican. Ronald Reagan used to celebrate New Year’s Eve at Sunnylands. The first George Bush held a state dinner there. Richard Nixon took refuge there after losing the presidency. We get a primer on the history of the property.
