Why Santa Barbara and Ventura are slow to issue pot dispensary licenses

Sixty-five percent of voters in Santa Barbara county approved the sale of cannabis, but the cities of Santa Barbara, Ventura and Goleta have all been slow to issues those permits.

Sixty-five percent of voters in Santa Barbara county approved the sale of cannabis, but the cities of Santa Barbara, Ventura and Goleta have all been slow to issues those permits.

Now Phil Ting, California State Assembly member who represents the 19th Assembly District, has stepped in to urge that those permits be issued. Of the 482 municipalities across California, 321 of them have not yet issued permits for cannabis shops.
