SBCC President retires amidst calls for his resignation

In a surprise move, Santa Barbara City College President Anthony Beebe announced he plans to step down from the position this summer. His retirement comes at the same time as many were calling for him to resign for inadequately handling gender and race issues on campus. He says he’s leaving due to health reasons, but many think there’s more to it than that.
