On Memorial Day: The Politics of Remembering

Memorial Day might seem as American as Apple Pie, but it takes on different forms for different people at different times.  On this rebroadcast of today's To the Point, we hear about memorializing the war dead from Arlington National Cemetery to the Internet. Also, the official beginning of hurricane season, and Apple overcomes Microsoft.

Memorial Day might seem as American as Apple Pie, but it takes on different forms for different people at different times. On this rebroadcast of today's To the Point, we hear about memorializing the war dead from Arlington National Cemetery to the Internet. Also, the official beginning of hurricane season could compound the nearby oil spill and Haiti disasters, and in one of the most dramatic comeback stories in business history, the value of Apple has surpassed Microsoft and is second only to Exxon Mobil among American corporations.
