Disney's Eisner and Ovitz Together Again -- in Court

Hosted by
When Michael Eisner hired Michael Ovitz to be president of Walt Disney, he got the most powerful man in Hollywood. Their falling-out was a high-profile scandal even by Hollywood standards. Now, they're both defendants in a suit charging that Disney's Board of Directors should have seen it coming and, in the process, saved $140 million. This week in Delaware, Disney shareholders are trying to prove that the Board of Directors failed to review Ovitz's contract, and then let Eisner remove him just 14 months later with a face-saving deal that cost the company $200 million. National Public Radio correspondent Kim Masters, whose books include The Keys to the Kingdom: How Michael Eisner Lost His Grip, looks at what's at stake for all parties in the real-life trial that Hollywood never could have scripted.
