Indonesians are searching for survivors following a 6.8-magnitude earthquake today and 7.8 quake yesterday along the Sumatra fault system. Meanwhile, Samoans are looking for survivors of a quake-related tsunami generated by yesterday's 8.1-magnitude quake in the Pacific, and Peruvians are reeling from strong shakes that rocked the border near Bolivia. Paul Earle is a seismologist with the US Geological Survey's National Earthquake Center in Golden, Colorado.
