UCLA Students Protest Blackface Frat Party

At UCLA, this is Black Bruin Welcome Week, but some fraternity and sorority members are accused of mocking black culture.  Men from Sigma Phi Epsilon and women belonging to Alpha Phi reportedly wore blackface to a party themed around the rap artist Kanye West.

At UCLA, this is Black Bruin Welcome Week, but some fraternity and sorority members are accused of mocking black culture. Men from Sigma Phi Epsilon and women belonging to Alpha Phi reportedly wore blackface to a party themed around the rap artist Kanye West. Jerry Kang, UCLA vice chancellor of equity, diversity and inclusion, says the university takes the situation very seriously and is trying to address students' concerns.
