Freeways Expand in the San Gabriel Valley and Inland Empire

State Highway 138 is the old road connecting the booming communities of Palmdale and Lancaster with the booming high desert. Because of the number of accidents, it’s known as “Blood Alley,” and road workers finally are trying to widen it.

State Highway 138 is the old road connecting the booming communities of Palmdale and Lancaster with the booming high desert. Because of the number of accidents, it’s known as “Blood Alley,” and road workers finally are trying to widen it. Motorists angry at construction delays have threatened the workers and damaged equipment so Cal-Trans intermittently shuts part of it down.
