Powerball Fever Comes to California

Despite odds of 175 million to one, the State Lottery says Powerball will "inspire" new players to "believe in something bigger" than Super-Lotto-Plus and Megamillions.

The iconic song "California Dreamin'" is being used to sell Powerball as it comes to the Golden State. With odds of 175 million to one, dreamin' is what it will take to invest in a $2 ticket. But the State Lottery says Powerball will "inspire" new players to "believe in something bigger" than Super-Lotto-Plus and Megamillions. Also, extending the Expo Line is creating a whole new series of carmageddons on the west side of LA. We preview nine months of traffic tie-ups the bridge for trains crossing Venice and Robertson Boulevards.
