A recent report from the Local Agency Formation Commission led San Fernando Valley secessionists to believe they could get their issue on next year's ballot. On Friday, Los Angeles bureaucrats issued a report that LAFCO's conclusions were wrong. City officials say it's important to clarify the difficulties and expense of creating a second city. Movement leaders claim LA the city is trying to keep the issue off the ballot. We hear from Richard Close, of Valley Vote, and Lisa Gritzner, chief-of-staff for Councilwoman Cindy Miscikowski who chairs the council's Ad Hoc Committee on Secession.
