Spanking Bill Raises Controversy

Governor Schwarzenegger says he got smacked around a lot as a kid. Now his native Austria bans corporal punishment. This week in the California Assembly, Democrat Sally Lieber of Mountain View says she'll introduce a bill to ban parents from spanking their children, punishable by a fine and up to a year in jail. The newspaper that broke the story got 86 pages of letters plus e-mails.  Is it a popular idea or not?
