Statewide Post Election Wrap-up

Hosted by
California Democrats are celebrating four tough, expensive Congressional victories that will increase their dominance of the state legislature. Voters have replaced imprisonment with treatment for drug offenders, and made school bonds easier to pass. We discuss the implications of these decisions in Sacramento and Washington with Republican and Democratic political consultants, the senior political advisor to Gov. Gray Davis, a Congressional reporter for the Christian Science Monitor, and the assistant director of the Los Angeles Times poll.
  • Newsmaker: Los Angeles County will have a new District Attorney when Steve Cooley is sworn in December 4 to replace Gill Garcetti. After two terms, Garcetti mustered just 36% of the vote to Cooley's 64%. Mr. Cooley joins us today.
